Maud Ellmann (KC 1972)

In 1972 King’s admitted the first cohort of female students – 47 out of a total student body of 452. Maud Ellmann was among them, arriving to study English Literature. She has gone on to a distinguished career as literary critic, editor and academic, most recently at the University of Chicago. A former Fellow of King’s, she has authored several books and many articles on modern British and Irish literature.
